Smokey Vales and Tatted Cloths...

Yo!

Mad shit happening towards the year closeout. Summer was a blast! We made new friends, was welcomed into some new environments, all in the matter of weeks. These are the Times and Times are Golden…

Wanna take the time out to shout out some family over in Brooklyn, paving the way for new style and culture for the neighborhood this decade. Smokey Vale is a concept barber shop where fine gentlemen, Paul (owner) Jason (barber) , Lou (operations) , and Ramell (talent), run a smooth operation over at 575 Vanderbilt Ave, Brooklyn, NY.

I had the opportunity of hanging out one Sunday with the fellas in support of Ramell’s embroidery art showcase. As a person who makes unique art, I have to share this disclaimer, what Ramell does as an art form isn’t something you can accept, appreciate, or cast your right approval through photo. Ramell, legitimately tattoos clothes. He embroiders clothes to make one of a kind images inspired through. Neo-punk, pop culture, and mixture of political standpoints, he is mastering all forms of images to add that extra funk not only to clothing but the art world as well…

Just like The ATTIE Project, my shitty photography doesn’t embody what Ramell is doing with Tattoo’d Cloth. Much respect to my brother pushing the needle, literally. Be sure to see more work from Ramell, in the near future.
