ATTIE's in The Black Home

Peace!

it Brings me joy to share…

ATTIE’s can currently be purchased at The Black Home!

First and foremost, paying HUGE HOMAGE to Neffi Walker and Danny Watson, true visionaries, who stopped one night to admire my work. On October 2nd, I was posted in SOHO during the evening hours waiting for my homies to come scoop me, when Neffi and Danny stumbled upon one of latest creations while I was posted on Greene St. I introduced myself and told them a bit about what I was up to in these streets. I shared how I recently started this street artist journey but there was no turning back. Not to mention, my story became more interesting when I shared how I reached out to Neffi andThe Black Home last holiday season and to my surprise, here Neffi Walker stood in the flesh, actually digging my work.I told her I wasn’t going to let her leave without taking an ATTIE with her. I proceeded to pull out all my clocks and laid them out on ground on some Canal St.shit and told her take her pick. My intention was to give them a timepiece off GP, but Neffi insisted on purchasing!! That’s when the sensation hit, a real feel, a real sense of love. Tribe shit.

It was the first time I brought out such a large piece out. Truth be told, it was also my last time bringing out such a large work of art. The amount of attention this creation received that day. I’m glad whoever saw it did, because wooooosh!! Both the clock and myself had enough that day…we almost didn’t make it.

Neffi Walker purchases ELE 2.

A few days later Neffi contacts me with the opportunity of a lifetime. Through her close connections in Newark, NJ, The Black Home was presented with a booth to present their interior design merchandise from their retail location for the 20th anniversary of the Newark Art’s Festival. Neffi then extended the offer to me. ATTIE would be featured alongside The Black Home in this cities annual festival. Blast off.

Without hesitation, I told her let’s go and we made the damn thing happen…Shouts to the wonderful women over at The Black Home. Neffi surrounds herself with likeminded, energetic, creative, intellectual souls, and I love this new found bound and a new found love for Newark.

- Support is in action -

These were the words Neffi used when she made a post honoring my work. Just as Neffi didn’t hesitate to support, I didn’t hesitate to do the same, and I’m glad I did. The amount of rich culture flowing throughout Newark, was what fulfilled me the most.

Aside from my preconceived notions of Newark, I was taken back by the thriving arts community which embraced ATTIE with open arms during the festival. Such pure and authenticity that flows up and down Broad Street, along with campus life of Rutgers, and Mayor Ras Baraka’s office right over the road. The life here is real, and support is within arms reach. I can dig it.

huge shoutout to Devyn abdullah, aspiring to be an interior designer herself, and also works for The Black Home, she BODIED this layout for the Festival. The photos are just as visually appealing as the room was made to be.

WITHIN THE SAME WEEK, NEFFI MANAGED TO GET ME INTO THE NEWARK ARTS FESTIVAL, AND AN OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE ATTIE TIMEPIECES IN HER ESTABLISHMENT, THE BLACK HOME. I WAS HONORED TO WAKE UP ONE MORNING TO AN I.G. POST WHERE NEFFI SHARED HER SIDE OF OUR INTERACTION, AND THE SUPPORT WAS THRILLING. JUST LIKE THAT, HER WORDS GOT RIGHT TO THE POINT. “SUPPORT IS IN ACTION…NO NEED FOR MEETINGS UPON MEETINGS TO GET THINGS DONE…” MY KINDA WOMAN, MY KINDA LINGO…
