Rage & Release Presents Youthful Truths....
Live at Basquiat’s Bottle…
Good people doing good things…my friends over at the Rage & Release conglomerate have been banging out collabs all year. Fresh off a New Balance and NYC Marathon project, Rage and Release had residency at one of Brooklyn’s nightlife hot spots, Basquiat’s Bottle. The showcase was titled ‘Youthful Truths’, and I had the opportunity to be one of their four artist on the bid. The showcase ran for the month of November with events throughout the month. To close the show, that final Sunday, I worked alongside fellow Brooklyn artist, my dawg, Kashmere, and did my first live painting.
It was definitely a moment. No one has ever seen my creating process, and I’ve never ‘performed’ my work until that day, but it was an experience for all parties involved. Some more back story, Basquiat’s Bottle wound up being a Virgil appreciation night since the news broke he passed away earlier that day. Video montages of his work played on the screen all night and the vibes were on point..
