Embracing Dad Habits by Conley Primus

So I got this book today and I’d be robbing you knowledge if I didn’t share.

I met Conley in my 20s through my extended family hanging one late summer night Brooklyn. Conley was pursuing his rap career at the time and I was this eager photographer/videographer looking to document anything I could get my hands on. Conley P, had this very confident approach with the pen. His music spoke about everything I was about. Real Hip Hop. Taking our everyday life experiences and transferring them into this unlabelled form of poetry. Years later he started a beautiful family and as I follow him on social media I couldn’t help but notice this attraction he shared with his daughter.

As though it shouldn’t come to my surprise Conley was actually documenting his everyday experiences with his princess. He recently wrote this book on what his journey has been now being a first time father to his beautiful baby girl.

This book couldn’t come at a better time in my life personally, but not to mention from someone I’m familiar with and from my native land, Brooklyn. These type of books already flood the market written by many scholars and educators who’ve studied the likes of early parenthood, but I find it as my duty to share such work of art from someone I know. Someone like me, whose experiences I can trust and relate to before encountering the next level of manhood.

That being said, I won’t ruin the experience, but please do yourself the favor, and check out Conley Primus’ '“Embracing Dad Habits”. For current fathers, soon to be fathers and future fathers, if you intend on starting a family one day you wont regret having this book in your library.
